Matthew Slingbaum
Biography
Matthew Slingbaum is the founding partner at Slingbaum Law, P.A. Throughout his 20+ years as an attorney, Matthew has acquired and successfully applied his extensive experience in almost all areas of civil litigation.
Matthew Slingbaum was born and raised in South Florida. Since an early age his determination, perseverance and commitment earned him several awards and acknowledgments due to his academic and sport performance. At an early age he became a State champion debater and was one of the top ranked tennis players in the country.
After graduating from high school Matthew received a scholarship from one of the top universities in the US., Emory University, where he made the dean’s list during six semesters and graduated with a B.A. in Political Science.
While pursuing his tennis career, Matthew suffered an injury and learned about medical malpractice firsthand, when he became a victim of medical malpractice. That experience shaped his future; he was determined to become an attorney and help other victims of negligence by continuing his studies at University of Florida College of Law where he graduated with honors, won the Book Award competition in Trial Practice and obtained his Juris Doctor degree.
He vigorously started his research and investigation into the medical/nursing standard of care. Matthew continued his graduate education at the NSU Medical School Master in Public Health program earning a Master in Public Health as the only non-doctor/medical student, and won the Deans Award for Academic Excellence graduating #1 in his class with a 4.0 GPA.
Matthew has helped achieve over $100 million dollars for his clients throughout his career. He started his legal career working for a highly respected Defense Law Firm, primarily in the field of medical malpractice. The experience gained by working for insurance companies provided valuable knowledge and understanding as to how insurance companies defend and determine the value of a lawsuit.
Matthew has dedicated his exceptional legal career and vast medical knowledge to tirelessly pursuing cases on behalf of his clients and has been able to deliver the best possible legal representation.
At Slingbaum Law we understand that in most personal injury and wrongful death lawsuits, an attorney must not only know the law, but should have a strong grasp of the medicine. This is especially true in medical malpractice and nursing home lawsuits, when the defendants are usually doctors or nurses.
